Our Blog:

Created Monday 16th January

Your child has had an awesome learning journey this autumn term.

In English, we covered grammar, punctuation, and spelling, as well as narrative, newspaper reports and poetry. As part of Black History month, we researched Malala Yousafzai and wrote biographies and stories based on her life experiences. We used hot seating activities to ask questions, which helped us to have a better understanding of the emotions and thinking of the different characters which we encountered.

Learning about the vicious Vikings in History helped us to have a better understanding of the presence of the Vikings in the UK and its impact. Our visit to the British Maritime Museum, helped us to explore Viking life through workshops.

In Maths, we covered the four operations, fractions and decimals, different units of measurements, properties of shape, angles and roman numerals. In Science, we learned about the different stages of human development and did an investigation to find out if there is a relationship between the mass of mammals and their gestation period.

The festive season is in full swing, and we are applying our knowledge of enterprise to help prepare us for the winter fayre and the sale of our product. This includes branding, designing as well as marketing and profit research! With the build up to the holidays, we have been practising our class song and can’t wait to show parents what we have learned at the school concert.
